Design Arguments - arguments to design, not from it - there is a difference

EVERYTHING HAS DESIGN!

William Paley - This chair, this calculator, this iPhone, our bodies – ALL HAVE DESIGN

The Design Argument stated –>

  • The universe shows design - orbits of planets, gravity, design of nature
  • The Bombadier Beetle - has two distinct chambers in its thorax to deliver a fiery spread - but the two chemicals in the chambers don’t combine until they’re needed. If they were to, the beetle would die because the chemicals would explode.

Which leads us to Warren’s argument

10 to the 40K power - 1 in 10 followed by 40,000 zeros = odds that DNA would form by accident under natural conditions

  • DNA is deoxyribo nucleic acid - the building blocks of life
  • DNA contains information - the first computer - about us - hair color, eye color, even predispositions to certain diseases
  • Genes that have been passed down since Adam and Eve
  • These molecules are incredibly intricately designed - there HAS to be a designer

Evolutionists would have you believe that Time + Chance = Existence?

  • Time is the problem
  • “Well, our current state is because of genetic mutations”
  • Bad mutations - extra arms, Siamese twins, four kidneys
  • Not possible. A GOOD mutation can be expected only once in a generation every 470 million years
  • How old do scientists say the earth (and we) are?
  • 100 yrs ago = 350 million years
  • 50 yrs ago = 1.2 billion years
  • Now = 4.6 billion years
  • Do the math - there’s not enough time for good genetic mutations

Things do not come by chance

  • Built a house? Restored a car? Building a road?

Our bodies show much more complex design than houses or cars or roads, and yet Evolutionists want you to a randomized, by chance, might happen and might not process to the formation of our bodies. RIDICULOUS.

Our bodies are much more in line today design-wise with computers - we have networks, organs, and complex structures in our body - scientists still don’t understand a lot about how the human brain works

Biggest design argument - that we were made in the image of God

  • We are like God - God is rational - we are rational beings
  • We have moral sensibilities
  • We have rational capabilities
  • We have freedom of will

The world is looking for a cause to all this - our universe. The cause is God, the effect is Creation, both us and the universe.
